This is knowledge shared by our engineers in regard to scanning 3D organic objects such as hands.
From Nick:
The two apps I tried were Kiri Engine (https://www.kiriengine.app), and Polycam, (https://poly.cam)
Both operate in a similar way, you take a load of overlapping photos on your phone, these get uploaded and get a scan back after a few minutes. Both offer a number of different types of scan, resolutions, and formats. If you have iphone you can use Lidar also, (I don’t). Neither seam to offer IGES or STEP so I was limited to STL.
Kiri is free but you are limited to the number of scans/week. Polycam is also free but you are then limited to certain file types. I signed up for the free trial then cancelled when I was done.
